GALAXY Watch has received an update that makes the wearable even better ahead of a major announcement from Samsung
Galaxy Watch update
Galaxy Watch was unwrapped by Samsung alongside the Galaxy Note 9 back in August of 2018.
The wearable succeeded the Gear S3 and arrived in two case sizes - a 46 millimetre and a 42 millimetre.
At launch Galaxy Watch prided itself on its wealth of fitness functionality and laudable battery life.
While the wearable is already incredible appealing for everything it does right, the South Korean tech giant has continued to improve it with a steady stream of updates.
The latest of which claims to improve the device’s swim tracking capabilities and system reliability.
SamMobile first noticed the update it claims is rolling out right now for both sized variants of the Galaxy Watch.
Dubbed version R810XXU1CSG4, the upgrade was said to be sized at 15.36MB and also disable the automatic sync of alarms from a paired smartphone.
Essentially, this means users will now be able to set an alarm that vibrates and rings on their smartphone and only vibrates on their watch rather than make a noise too, for instance.
Samsung’s changelog for the update read:
• Improved system reliability
• Disabled automatic sync of alarm from paired smartphone or watch
• Improved tracking for swim

Unfortunately Samsung did not declare exactly how the Galaxy Watch’s swim tracking has been improved.
The new update comes ahead of the South Korean tech firm’s scheduled Unpacked event that is set to take place on August 7 in New York City.
While it is expected Samsung will take the wraps of its new Galaxy Note 10 flagship, the OEM has also been tipped to be planning the unveiling of a new smartwatch, too.
Numerous rumours and leaks have suggested the manufacturer could debut the Galaxy Watch Active 2 at the event.
Reliable tipster Evan Blass recently took to Twitter and posted a claimed promotional image for the device that appeared to have leaked ahead of launch.
The device was exhibited looking incredibly similar to the current Galaxy Watch Active but with altered buttons on its sides.
It has been speculated the hardware could be capable of performing an electrocardiogram (ECG) for users and may be able to detect falls.
With Samsung’s event mere weeks away, fans will not have to wait long to see if the rumours mentioned above are true.
